At Pride Car Customs, we put our heart and soul into every steering wheel that comes through our workshop. Our aim is always to restore as much of the original wheel as possible, preserving its character, structure and originality wherever practical.
Not every steering wheel is an easy job. Some arrive heavily worn, damaged, deteriorated or with problems that go far beyond simply removing the old leather and retrimming it. And sometimes, there are limitations where a wheel simply cannot be restored to its original condition.
But we don’t make that decision before we’ve explored every possible solution.

We approach difficult steering wheels differently.
Our experience goes beyond traditional trimming. We are mechanically minded, technically curious and problem solvers by nature. When a steering wheel presents a challenge, we look at the complete picture and think about how it can be repaired, rebuilt or restored rather than simply saying “it can’t be done.”
That means we regularly take on steering wheels that other trimmers may choose not to touch.
We look at the construction, damage, materials, condition and what can realistically be saved. From there, we use our knowledge, experience and a healthy amount of outside-the-box thinking to develop a solution.

Restoration isn’t always about replacing everything.
Sometimes the best result comes from carefully repairing what is already there. Other times, components need rebuilding, reshaping or adapting before the finishing work can begin. Every steering wheel is different, and every restoration requires its own approach.
Our philosophy is simple:
If there is a way to save it, we’ll look for it.
We won’t promise the impossible, and we’ll always be honest when damage or deterioration has gone beyond practical restoration. But before we reach that point, we’ll explore the options and use our craftsmanship, mechanical understanding and problem-solving ability to find the best solution available.

For us, a steering wheel isn’t just another trimming job. It’s a piece of the vehicle, and in many cases it is one of the most important things the driver interacts with.
